The Mantis infrared camera excels in imaging both very hot and warm objects by capturing in mid wave infrared (MWIR) and long wave infrared (LWIR) simultaneously. This dual-band approach enhances the contrast and detail in thermal images, enabling superior detection across a broad temperature spectrum. By leveraging MWIR for high-temperature objects and LWIR for more subtle thermal signatures, Mantis provides unmatched clarity and accuracy. This capability is critical in applications like precision surveillance, safety monitoring, and industrial diagnostics, where detailed thermal differentiation is essential.
High Temperature Imaging
The Mantis infrared camera uniquely addresses the challenge of imaging extremely high temperatures by incorporating mid wave infrared (MWIR) alongside long wave infrared (LWIR). While uncooled LWIR cameras are typically limited to temperatures up to around 500°C, Mantis extends this range significantly by utilizing MWIR to accurately image temperatures up to 2000°C. This capability is essential for monitoring high-temperature processes and events, such as metal forging, fire detection, and combustion analysis, where precise temperature measurements are critical for safety and efficiency.
Imaging inside Furnaces
A specific version of our Mantis infrared camera is designed for imaging the intense environments inside furnaces and boilers, particularly in power plants operating at temperatures around 1500°C. Utilizing its MWIR capabilities, Mantis provides detailed and accurate thermal images of critical components like the bullnose and pendants, which are exposed to extreme heat during the combustion of coal or biomass. This precise imaging allows for continuous monitoring and assessment of the condition and performance of these components, enabling timely maintenance decisions, optimizing efficiency, and ensuring the safety of the power plant operations.
